The Broken series began as a single scene I couldn't get out of my head: a woman arriving at an inn, sharing a bed with a man she once loved and was betrayed by. That scene became Raven. Raven became a trilogy. The trilogy became something I think about every day.
I don't write about perfect people in perfect circumstances. I write about complicated people trying to survive impossible ones — and what happens when love becomes the most dangerous complication of all.
I've been writing since I learned to read. I finished my first novel at twelve, and I haven't stopped since — the characters and the stories come to me in dreams, and I've spent my life following them onto the page.
I set my debut in 1728 Scotland because it's a moment I don't hear enough about: the quiet between the two Jacobite risings — after one attempt has failed, and before the next has begun. I find that in-between endlessly fascinating — people living in the aftermath of one loss and the shadow of another. And, well — who can say no to a Highlander.
Away from the page, I keep a quiet life, and I spend it with the people closest to me.
Fun fact about me, I tend to dream in the past — in times and places I've never been. Writing is how I get to visit them. One word. One chapter. One story at a time.
The Broken trilogy — Raven, Ludan, and Fenrir — is being published across 2025 and 2028. If you want to know what happens before the rest of the world does, the best place to be is on my list.
